Navigating the CLR
There are 4 primary ways to navigate the CLR:
| 2. | The Nine-Phase Graphic |
Tabs and Buttons
Using the tabs and buttons is fastest and easiest way to navigate the Phases, Activities, and Task of the CLR. Most experienced CLR users navigate this way.
| 1. | The Phase tabs are located near the top right of every page of the CLR (see below.) |
| 2. | Move the cursor and hover over the tabs and a drop down menu displays listing the Activities within a Phase (see below.) |
| 3. | Click on the Activity you would like to navigate to. |
| 4. | On the Activity introduction page, all of the activities of the Phase are displayed on the left. (See below) |
| 5. | Move the cursor and hover over the Activity buttons, and a drop down menu displays within the Tasks. (See below) |
| 6. | Click on the Task you would like to navigate to. The CLR is a task oriented methodology so the hands-on resources are at the Task level—where you will spend the majority of your time. |
The Nine-Phase Graphic
This navigation method is very similar to the first, in that it requires you to be familiar with the structure and content of the CLR. However, unlike the tabs and buttons, this navigation method uses the Nine-Phase Model graphic to guide the user.
| 1. | The Welcome screen of the CLR displays the nine phase model (see below.) You can navigate through the methodology by simply clicking on the Phase you want to navigate to. |
| 2. | On the Phase introduction page, the Nine-Phase Model graphic now displays the Activities of the Phase (see below.) Click on the Activity you want to navigate to. |
| 3. | On the Activity Introduction page, the Nine-Phase Model now displays the Tasks of the Activity. Click on the Task you want to navigate to. |
Search
This navigation method is designed for users new to the CLR methodology and organizational structure of the nine phases.
| 1. | Click on the Search button on the left side of the web page (see below.) |
| 2. | In the Search dialog box, type your search criteria (a keyword or phrase), select the number of results per page and match options, and click Go. (See below) |
| 3. | Results are displayed in order of pages that most likely match your search criteria. The results are displayed as hyperlinks so you can directly navigate to the suggested pages. (See below) |
Table of Contents
This navigation method is recommended for users new to the CLR and the nine-phase model. Using the Table of Contents to access the various components of the methodology assists you to become more familiar with the overall contents and structure of the entire methodology, developing your mastery of the CLR as you use it.
| 1. | To view the Table of Contents, click on the Contents button located on the left side of every web page. An expanded version of the Table of Contents will be displayed—from the Phase level down to the Resources. |
| 2. | To collapse any of the levels, simple click on the folder icon. |
| 3. | All pages listed in the Table of Contents are hyperlinks to each specific page. Review the listing and click on the page you wish to work with. |
Breadcrumbs
Breadcrumb navigation is displayed at the top left corner of every page (see below.) Breadcrumb navigation is designed to inform you as to where you currently are in the organization of the CLR. You can directly to an item in the Breadcrumb by simply clicking on it.
Hyperlinks
Throughout methodology, there are references to other areas of content that add value to the topic being discussed on any page. The references are displayed as blue hyperlinks. Hyperlinks offer insight into how other sections of the CLR impact content you are viewing. As you continue to use the CLR and become familiar with tasks and activities that provide information that impacts other tasks and activities, you are constantly improving your mastery of the CLR—building greater skills and capabilities for leading change successfully.
